EASTON – A small business that started as a women’s gym bag from Easton has grown into a multi-million dollar family business.

Brabants bootya health and fitness brand that started its humble journey in 2013 but was officially launched in 2014.

Kelly BrabantsShe, the owner, traveled to Brazil to visit family, not knowing she was leaving with something that would change their lives forever.

During the trip, Brabants’ mother, Neva, picked up a pair of leggings from the boutique, and the daughter instantly fell in love with them.

The panty was comfortable, stretchy, and made of a strong material.

“I’ve always been drawn to those leggings,” Brabants said. “They’ve always made me feel confident and my body fit no matter what stage I was in.”

Brabants has found herself collecting several types of leggings in different sizes to meet the needs of her body throughout her life.

“It was an aha moment,” Brabants said.

When she realized she could build a sportswear business while creating sizes for everyone’s body type – it became a no-brainer.

The idea of ​​bringing Brazilian leggings to America became her next mission.

Brabants taught dance classes in Boston, knowing that students would be deeply immersed in her new work.

She wanted to create sportswear that grows with your body and stretches.

As a woman coming from a competitive dance background, Brabants can recognize a pair of excellent quality socks when they see one.

“I told my dad I had a business plan and asked if he could help me invest in 100 pairs of leggings,” Brabants said. “I wanted to prove that there was a demand for leggings that were all-in-one and stretchy.”

The family then went to Brazil and met the woman who originally sold Neiva’s one-size-fits-all pair of leggings.

Together they came up with a different logo, colors and designs for the leggings. Once the family gets home, it’s time to commit to the real work.

Brabants immediately sold out at first dance class and knew this was a great investment.

The business has grown exponentially after nearly 10 years, giving America a taste of Brazilian sportswear. The family still works with the owner of the boutique to this day.

“In Brazil, bright colors and people have peace of mind and wear whatever they want regardless of body type,” Brabants said.

“Most Brazilians love to wear a micro bikini, dance and feel sexy. It’s important for a woman to feel good about her skin. Women of all ages and sizes in Brazil wear the micro bikini thong, and they don’t care. It’s an important message to embrace your natural beauty and your flaws,” Brabants said.

Even Brazil inspired flavors Body Brabants Energy drinks, from passion fruit flavors to cranberry and lemonade.

Brabants owes much of her success to expression, the idea that positive thinking can attract positive things into your life, she said.

Brabants spent a lot of time envisioning how she would build an empire focused on spreading a positive body image and teaching women to love themselves regardless of their size.

“Everything I have in my life I show now,” said Brabants.

Brabants often remembers when she first started her Instagram page.

Kelly Brabants leads hundreds of women in a Booty by Brabants charitable training class on the outside lawn at Encore Boston Harbor in August 2022 that raises money for the nonprofit Best Buddies MA & RI.  Brabants has raised $22,500 for local nonprofits through its 2022 summer exercise series.

She used to have less than 200 followers, now she has over 95,000 followers and the number is increasing.

Brabants said that appearance is a powerful tool to bring your vision to life.

Brabants knows that the key to success is positive thinking and hard work.

The company has had some notable achievements launching a virtual workout app, creating vitamin-rich energy drinks, and raising more than $300,000 for charity through workouts.
